I am sooo glad that we finally got someone working for us and helping us out. It is so hard for an African American woman to come up these days. I am a woman on the grow, but the faster I run, it seems the further behind I get. I am a 32 yr old wife and mother of three and I think a program like yours is exactly what I need to help me achieve my goals in life, love, and family. I have always wanted to start my own clothing line, but the resources where I live prevents that. Although I am a low income mother, I have achieved one of my biggest goals, which was to own my own home by the age of 30 and I did it. It was very, very hard, but I did it. Now I want my own clothing line. Your organization may be just the encouragement I need to become the next Kimora Simmons. Lol (you never know). Thank You For thinking of women like me and all women wanting a better life.
Kenya is right. We need this group today more than ever. I want to make sure we don't forget about women who are veterans of the military, especially those who served in Iraq. I'm a veteran and I know that a lot of women in the military come home and have a very difficult time getting back into life after they have been taken away from their loved ones for so long. How can we make sure to include these women in our efforts? I'd like to help.
Owning your own home by age 30 is a huge accomplishment, you should be very proud Kenya. As a long-time renter in New York City, I can really appreciate what a giant achievement that is. Well done. And Margaret is absolutely right. It's too easy to just assume that men and women returning from service will find work and a place to live, or return to their education, not to mention dealing with what they experienced during their service, things that those of us who have not served cannot even imagine. Discussing it here may give them some ideas, or at least someone to talk to about it.
I want to begin by saying women enpowering one another is a real blessing from above. I am trying to live out a dream I have had for a long time, and that is to write a book. My dreams were put on hold for I got on drugs real bad and lost my drive to become successful and be pillar of strength to all my brothers and sisters. My problems are I have no college, no one to help me or keep me motivated. I do have kids and a husband that I love very much but the motivation is not there. I am still writing and studying myself. See, I believe you can make it with diligence and hard work and a melody from heaven.
First I have to say how happy I am to finally come upon a foundation such as this. I am a 33 year old college woman majoring in Pastoral Studies. I get my inspiration from My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is always good to have earthly help as well. This foundation seems to be just what woman need. My ultimate goal is to open my own church, open a proper etiquette bussiness, and along with my mother counsel and teach woman how to apply for financial need so they can take care of there families. This foundation will help me by keeping me inspired to continue on through life's rough roads. I am so thankful we are getting the help we need to continue to be strong, but strong with the mind power to strive for greatness. God Bless!
I'm a stay home mom of a 4 & 5 year old. I have found inspiration from my children and from that inspiration I created a business. One day after teaching my daughter, who was 4 at that time, how to play the piano, she then start teaching her 3 year old younger brother what she had learned from me. This was how the DVD Music Made Simple- The Baby Step Method was created. Based on the concept of kids teaching kids. A 4 year old teaching other kids how to read and play music on the keyboard or piano. Here are a few articles written about the DVD.

I am stuggling with the marketing aspect of the business. It is really hard
with a limited budget or next to none. Thank you so much for doing this for us who are trying. Thanks again. May GOD Bless and Keep you and your family.
Ok so I'm browsing AOL and then clicked on a celebrity picture that took me further into Black Voices. I decided to click through the "Whatever Happened to..." photos. Some were funny. Some brought back memories and some like Don Cornelius, took me back for a few seconds after I read that he sold Soul Train. "Oh well..." I thought and clicked on more photos and came across a photo with MJB and the foundation. I then googled FFAWN and of all the information I read here on this site, I perked up as I read: "girls of all ages and ethnicities."
My grand daugthers are now 7 & 8 years old. Both are awesome, but I need all the best quality support, support, support that I can get for them.
They've been modeling since two and three years old. Together they've starred and co-starred in community plays. I published my own newspaper for a while and they helped me sell my newspapers on the street. But, "granma" is getting older now.
The eldest wrote her first book at the age of 5 or 6 (I don't know... "granma" can't remember...) and had her second book published last year. Her school was very instrumental in getting it published. She deserves a wonderful, happy and fruitful life. She needs her business law degree from some place like Harvard or Princeston. Lord knows... she has the gift.
The youngest also published a book last year. She got it. She dances, loves to sing, loves the spotlight, rather the spotlight loves her. She conducts class sessions with all her dolls. Of course, she plays the role of the teacher. Although every week, I encourage both of them to go to college for a programmed education, I know that I have to expose them both to quality people for continued support and a rock solid foundation for all their endeavors.
All three of us have completed our vision boards, an idea I had gotten from the (Oprah show). It was such a fun activity. The girls treated it like arts & craft. They love arts and crafts, cutting and pasting and taping and making a mess. LOL "Good thing "Granma" didn't throw out those old magazines."
FFAWN: Here's the thing... if there is work I can do to help the foundation to help the girls - then count me in.
